Big Bangs
So, as we know, fandoms like their ficathons and big bangs. I'm signed on board to do the Supernatural Gen BB (heaven help me), but I've also been nudged a bit to do the Dark Angel one as well.

These are bad ideas. They are BAD ideas.

But...let's just say I were tempted to at least ponder the thought - not a word meg_tdj - then I might be open to some suggestions. If nothing grabs me, hey fine. No biggie and I move on. But if there is something that catches my eye, what's the harm in at least thinking about it?

So if you like Dark Angel and feel like giving me some prompts, please do so. I'm shakier with DA than I am SPN, and feel the most comfortable with Alec-centric stuff (shocker), but I had a lot of feedback saying I have a strong Joshua voice. I don't ship Max/Alec, and I'm pretty canon based. If I were to write anything, it'd be during series or post-series.

I *think* my strengths lie with psychological stuff and I'm a fan of action-based stuff. That is very broad, but there it is.

Oh! I love reading good DA fics and honestly, there are so few...
My favorites are those that focus on the fact that Alec went through the whole training and was an accomplished soldier, in contrast with Max who ran away when she was just getting started. Like, some problem happens that Max thinks that she can solve (say in Terminal city, for example) but fails because she lacks those skills and has to turn to Alec for it.

Also, I'll cover you in chocolate cookies no matter what DA story you write, because I know it's gonna be awesome :)))

Thanks :)

It's funny you bring this up. I always found it hilarious that Alec was always bumping around, getting hurt, etc., when he was supposed to be an accomplished soldier and assassin. Max was always so much better, but she skipped out of the training when she was a kid.

I know! It was so annoying! The writers really messed that up because they wrote themselves into a corner by bringing in a character whose background would make him better than their main character. You never do that, everyone knows it, because then the only way to solve it is to dumb down a character (Alec) who wouldn't even be alive (because Manticore wouldn't allow it) if he was dumb *g*

LOL, I remember watching the show thinking...but surely there is a twist? There's a point? They will show Alec better in something else and the two will compliment each other and...

Then we got super!Max *shakes head*

I really liked Max and all her faults/vulnerablities in S1.

i don't know if you want to go down this path or not but my subconscious mind brought me Max/White. idek where that came from but if you get inspired or feel like writing it, i would love a progression from their super-antagonistic relationship to one where they genuinely care for each other to the extent that White turns around and fights to protect Max from those cult people. Max can actually care about White or just use him. do what you will with the side characters ;)

Sorry for the many posts but character limits is forcing me to shorten my comments.

TITLE of challenge (if any): 'Til We Meet Again
DETAILS: Angst/Romance.

Alec is on the brink of death. His spirit is in limbo where Rachel Berrisford waiting for him. They discuss his past, his present and how he may not have a future. Rachel tries to convice Alec that he has much to live for despite the fact that Alec wants to stay with her. She also tells him that she'll continue waiting for him and that they'll be together when it's really his time to go.

TITLE of challenge (if any): Trees and their Fruits (If you have something better please change)

Max has always looked for her mother. When they get a lead that a woman in a mental institution could be a former Manticore surrogate, Max takes off to investigate. The woman is a surrogate alright. But she gave birth 2 boys, one of which has already followed her footsteps and gone crazy.

Author decides if this should have a Max/Alec pairing.

TITLE of challenge (if any): The Devil Wears Prada

The X-series transgenics are strong, fast, sleek, mysterious and beautiful. They are the definition of excellence and superiority. As the mainstream has started to embrace the once shunned residents of Terminal City and are clamoring for all things transgenic, one car or fashion company has latched on to the idea that the X Series' image would go well with the image their company wants to project. And they already have one transgenic in mind, Alec.

Laughter ensues as Mole fronts as Alec's manager (to make those slick Company Execs think twice before cheating them), Ralph and/or Zero discover that being a soldier is sometimes easier than being an intern, Dalton debuts into puberty by falling for the former model tutoring Alec and Max is pissy over losing two of her lieutenants (Alec and Mole) to the world of glitz and glamour even if just for a short time.

TITLE of challenge (if any): Heaven Help Us

Everyone thinks that Alec is your average X5. What if some rogue scientist added a few "enhancements" to Alec, when he was cloned from Ben, without telling anyone in Manticore? Wing!fic. At one point Mole jokingly says that even as a nomalie Alec is still disgustingly pretty.

Author decides if this should have a Max/Alec pairing.

TITLE of challenge (if any): Broken Fairytale (Title can be changed)
DETAILS: Angst/Romance.

Max/Logan Alec/Original Character

It's been years since the stand in Terminal City. Transgenics are now accepted and many have gone their own way. Max is still with Logan but the years of not being able to touch each other has been a real strain. On a day like any other, Max is surprised when Alec shows up asking for a favor. A baby. He, suprisingly enough, found love and she wants to have a family with him. But with trangenics being a combo of different genes, compatibility is a big problem with "mixed" couples and many have gone childless.

Max agrees to donate an egg and act as a surrogate despite Logan's misgivings. And as the pregnancy months go by, she finds herself envying Alec and his wife as they grow closer with the impending birth while she and Logan are drifting apart as the situation highlights all the things missing in their own relationship.

Author decides if Max start to have feelings for Alec as he also takes care of her since she's carrying his child. But Alec shouldstay loyal to wife.

TITLE of challenge (if any): I Put a Spell on You (Title can be changed)
DETAILS: Angst/Comedy/Romance.

Alec/Rachel Alec/Original Character

How far would you go for love? If the object of your affections doesn't even notice you, is the journey over before it began?

For one X5 battle processor, it seemed like the answer to the latter question is yes. But with the help of a match making Psy-Ops operative, her answer to the first question is "far, very far".

With a slew of data on behaviour pattern probability and mind manipulation on hand, doors are opening for the lovelorn X5 and her Psy-Ops cupid. Sure, the doors are curtained in illusion and a whole bunch of statistics, but they are open nonetheless. Sounds devious right? It's not like they're hurting anyone. What's a little mind warp to make a guy see his dead so-called soul mate in you?

Like any good soldier and battle processor the X5 is ready to experience comedy, action and a boat load of drama. From her point of view all of it would be worth it as long as she gets to experience love and most of all experience love with Alec.

But deception is never a good thing and the girls are going to learn that no one should mess with the memory of a person's dead ex.

TITLE of challenge (if any): King Solomon's Decision (Title can be changed)

A few years after the Berrisford Agenda, Alec and Robert Berrisford see each other again. But this time Berrisford has a child with him. His grandchild.

Turns out, Rachel was pregnant when the car bomb exploded. The pregnancy was not affected by the blast or the coma. But after giving birth, Rachel started to deteriorate and died.

Drama ensues as Alec struggles with his need to get to know his child vs. leaving the child with Berrisford so that s/he could have a shot at a normal life.

Special request: Leave room for the possibility that Alec will leave to come to work for Berrisford so that he could be closer to his child.

TITLE of challenge (if any): Living in my Skin (Title can be changed)

When a bad case of getting blown up makes Alec forget who he is and start believing he is Simon Lehane, the identity he took up during his Berrisford assignment, chaos ensues. Having a hole in the middle of TC is bad enough but the memory gap in the guy in charge of the supply run is worse.

Getting Alec back to normal is an obvious priority. But it's easier said than done. Doctors can't tell when or if Alec will recover from his current ailment. Those assigned to re-train him keep quitting since they find it unconfortable and distressing to work with an Alec who is more uptight and a bigger prude than Logan. Mole's been shot in the ass, though whether it was by accident or not is still up for debate.

But despite the hole in the middle of TC, the disruption in the supply run and the mishaps during the military re-training sessions, the biggest challenge they all face is telling a guy he can't try to find the girl he loves because she's dead and he, in some capacity, was involved in the cause of her death.
